This course covers a range of hairdressing skills and knowledge, such as cutting, drying, styling, colouring and lightening, relaxing and perming, shampooing, and consulting with clients.
Level 2 Hairdressing is a vocational qualification that provides the foundational skills and knowledge needed to work as a junior hairdresser or stylist.

Our Level 2 Hairdressing course is ideal for those new to the industry or with some basic skills and knowledge.
Perfect for students aged 16 plus or adults looking to start a career in hairdressing.
It is also suitable for those with some experience in the hair and beauty industry who want to further develop their skills.
The Level 2 Hairdressing course is predominantly practical, and assessments are based on observing practical tasks and creating a portfolio of evidence. Theory sessions and assignments are included to support the knowledge required. These may include assessments to test theoretical knowledge in the hairdressing skills you have learnt.

Eligibility
- 16+ and have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years, depending on status.
- Bursary offered to all eligible 16-19-year-olds.

No. We will make sure that you work at a level that is suitable for you.
Yes, almost all of the training on offer is free due to the course being partly funded by the European Social Fund, Adult Education Budget and other associated funding streams. Some courses may not be funded but can be paid for with an Advanced Learner Loan. We know that can sound confusing, but we can help you figure out what's best for you.
For those aged 16-19 you may be eligible for a training bursary or allowance depending on which country you live in.
