The Level 1 Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery provides a foundational understanding of the carpentry and joinery trade, equipping learners with practical skills and knowledge. It is a good starting point for those looking to enter the construction industry.
Covers a range of carpentry and joinery skills and provides knowledge in line with the trade. Learners will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry.
The course is a stepping stone to Level 2 or an apprenticeship, providing the basis for further learning and career development.

Eligibility
- 16+ and have lived in UK or EU for the last 3 years, depending on status.
- Bursary offered to all eligible 16-19-year-olds.
- Successful candidates will be invited to attend an interview at one of our Academies.

No. We will make sure that you work at a level that is suitable for you.
Yes, almost all of the training on offer is free due to the course being partly funded by the European Social Fund, Adult Education Budget and other associated funding streams. Some courses may not be funded but can be paid for with an Advanced Learner Loan. We know that can sound confusing, but we can help you figure out what's best for you.
For those aged 16-19 you may be eligible for a training bursary or allowance depending on which country you live in.
