They will also learn about health, safety and environmental issues on construction sites, and how to communicate with others on the job as well as more complex practical skills specific to bricklaying, including building solid walls, interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures, and constructing cavity walls forming masonry structures.

Learners will be able to further develop their skills and knowledge in Carpentry and Joinery. They will study the Principles of construction - Structural carpentry - Non-structural carpentry Timber technology and the use of power tools. This also includes door hanging and fitting kitchen methods.
