By completing this qualification, you will develop knowledge of mental health in children and young people which will help support progression onto further qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sectors.

What will I learn?

Our Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health course covers the following units: 

  • Understand children and young people’s mental health in context
  • Understand factors which may affect children and young people’s mental health
  • Understand children and young people’s mental health concerns
  • Understand the impact of children and young people’s mental health concerns
  • Understand how to support children and young people with mental health concerns

Eligibility

This course is government-funded, and you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free: 

  • You must currently live in England
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years for purposes other than study 
  • You must be over the age of 19
