Meeting entry requirements for University:

Most students choose to complete an Access to Higher Education Diploma as part of a longer-term aim of progressing to university.

Whilst your tutors are there to support and guide individual applications, it is your responsibility to research the specific entry requirements for your chosen course at the university that you wish to progress onto.

An Access to HE Diploma is made up of units that offer 45 graded credits and 15 ungraded credits. You will complete a number of assignments as part of your modules that will form your electronic portfolio. You will be assessed via formal written assignments, that will create a portfolio of work.

Access courses are designed for people who have been out of education for some time - so they're the perfect option if you left school without the qualifications you'd need to go straight to university. They provide you with a good level of knowledge and skills so that you feel prepared to start a degree. Whether you're a career changer, have been out of employment and education for some time, or you're looking to pursue a subject you're passionate about - an Access to HE course could be the right option for you.
