Within this course you will learn all about the laws and legislation surrounding safeguarding and the high level work that is needed to keep children safe.

This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of sexual health awareness. There are no specific entry requirements for this course. Basic understanding of English language, literacy, numeracy and ICT are required to complete this course.

In this course, you will gain awareness about substance misuse, including the types of substances that might be misused and how to spot signs of substance misuse. You will also learn about stereotypes and statistics for substance misuse.

Child sexual exploitation is where a child or young person is encouraged or forced to take part in a sexual act. This is often in return for money, jewellery, new clothes, mobile phones, alcohol, drugs or a place to stay. It can happen to any young person from any background and they can be targeted by abusers both online or in person.

This course consists of two units: Sepsis Awareness and Wound Care. The first unit covers sepsis, how common it is, and who is most at risk from developing the illness, as well as the symptoms of sepsis and how it is managed and treated. The second unit is about basic wound care and its role in avoiding infections and sepsis, including the importance of infection control and hand hygiene.
